Lukashenko thanked Belarusians for their happiness

Alexander Lukashenko’s inauguration took place on March 25. It is significant that this date is the main holiday of the opposition, Freedom Day. The independent Belarusian People’s Republic was proclaimed 107 years ago. It was soon liquidated, and Soviet power was established on its territory. This coincidence of dates obviously symbolizes the triumph of the system created by Lukashenko over the opposition’s project. In his inaugural speech, the president congratulated the entire Belarusian society on his victory.

The inauguration ceremony of Alexander Lukashenko took place on March 25 in the presence of 1,100 of the best representatives of Belarus in the ceremonial hall, the largest in the Palace of Independence.

The event was opened by Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko, who once again solemnly informed the audience about the phenomenal victory of Alexander Lukashenko. In the elections held on January 26, 5,136,293 votes were cast for his candidacy. And this is 86.82% of the number of citizens who took part in the voting.

Having taken the oath for the seventh time and read out its text in Belarusian, the president further addressed the audience in Russian.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate all of us on our election victory. This is a victory not only for me, the president, but also for millions of our Belarusians. On January 26, we crossed another historic crossroads. We have passed it confidently and wisely, without turning off the road that we have been following for a third of a century. This is the path of peace and creation, national unity and patriotism, justice and broad opportunities for everyone – all that we call a state for the people. This is our Belarusian way!” said Alexander Lukashenko.

It is characteristic that the date of the inauguration this time coincided with the main holiday of the opposition – Freedom Day. On this day, 107 years ago, the independent Belarusian People’s Republic was proclaimed. However, it did not last long – already in December 1918, the Red Army entered Minsk, thereby eliminating the BNR. And the history of Soviet Belarus began.

Nevertheless, the opposition did not fail to celebrate Freedom Day this year, as always. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya spoke in Vilnius and, of course, did not miss the opportunity to denounce the multiple winner of the presidential election. “No matter what the regime does – non-elections and inaugurations, repression and military provocations, it will not be able to regain legitimacy and stop our will to freedom. The regime will not be able to isolate us from Europe,” the opposition leader said.

Meanwhile, Lukashenko emphasized in his inaugural speech: “Over the years, we have managed to form a standard for holding elections that can serve as an international benchmark.”

Moreover, the president has no doubt that the system created in Belarus is the object of the aspirations of the working people of foreign countries. “Half the world dreams of our “dictatorship” – the dictatorship of the real affairs and interests of our people. And there’s nothing wrong with freedom of speech. We have more democracy than those who call themselves its standard,” the president said confidently.

Lukashenko did not ignore his competitors in the tense competitive elections. “Today I would like to address my rivals, the candidates who nominated themselves for the presidency. Thanks to you, we have shown an example of real pure competition. Without internal intrigues, manipulations by external forces,” the head of state approved.

At the same time, he ironically commented on the attempts of foreign centers to influence the Belarusian political process: “Thank you to those who do not fit into such a political and legal format, but continue to teach us life from abroad, working off grants from Western “democracies.”

At the same time, as often lately, he did not fail to curtsy towards Donald Trump. President Lukashenko noted that the investigation of the new US administration revealed the subversive role of such American structures as USAID (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) and NED (a foundation banned in the Russian Federation) in organizing protest actions in various countries, including Belarus in 2020.

At the same time, the head of state made it clear that he would feel quite confident if he happened to communicate with the leader of the United States. “What did the world know about the Republic of Belarus some three decades ago? Almost nothing. Who was interested in us? Probably no one. And today? Today, our country has resonated all over the world, today we matter!” said Lukashenko confidently.

But the priority for him, of course, is not foreign recognition, but the love and support of his compatriots. The president firmly promised them: “Despite all the challenges, we will maintain a socially oriented economic model based on the mutual responsibility of the state and society. We will continue to work to improve the efficiency of public administration and to fight ruthlessly against bureaucracy and corruption. We will do this, as always, openly and openly. We will solve this problem in this five-year plan. I promise.”

The president started fighting corruption when he was a simple deputy. But all these years, the multi-headed hydra somehow managed to survive under the blows of Lukashenko. However, the next five years, according to his assurances, will be a period not only for corrupt officials, but also for bureaucrats, when they will be completely and definitively eradicated.

But the main thing, which is fully justified by the laws of drama, was said by the president in the finale. “I know that I have real like-minded people around me. People who are convinced of the correctness of what we are doing. Sincerely loving Belarus and true patriots. No leader of the state has such hardworking and reliable people as you, Belarusians! That’s why I am a happy president, and Belarus is a country where I want to live,” Alexander Lukashenko frankly admitted.

And of course, the fact that the president enjoys the management process after so many years in office certainly cannot but please ordinary Belarusians.
