Lukashenko is concerned about the death of livestock and space

On Thursday, the President of Belarus held a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers. Alexander Lukashenko has set new tasks for the officials. Neither the problem of housing for young professionals, nor the space industry, nor the health of cattle escaped the President’s attention. He even promised to return to the last topic separately and threatened criminal liability to those who would be caught in serious omissions in the field of animal husbandry.

On Thursday, the first meeting of the President of Belarus with the updated government took place, so the list of tasks that seem to be top priorities is quite indicative of the prospects for the country’s economic policy.

“This is an issue that should become one of the priorities for the five–year plan,” Alexander Lukashenko described the topic of rental housing. It is directly related to the president’s desire to create an incentive for people not to seek big cities, but to live in peace and prosperity in rural areas. “The principle is simple: if you have worked for a certain number of years, say 10 or 15, without interruption in the organization that provided you with housing for rent, then you get the right to buy it into ownership. This is a fundamental issue on which there is a lot of discussion. And people are asking us this question,” Lukashenko explained.

Moreover, he is ready to simply donate housing to young professionals. However, to do this, they must agree to live in places that, as the president himself is sure, are almost gone. His line of thought is as follows: “Maybe it would be advisable for a young specialist to give a house somewhere in a bear corner, as they say (although there are no such houses in Belarus anymore). Give it away for free. Perhaps someone has an alternative opinion, let’s discuss it.”

Prime Minister Alexander Turchin said that it is proposed to build about 5 million square meters in Belarus in the next five years. m of rental housing. Turchin explained that he perfectly understands the super task: “The main goal is to consolidate personnel and develop our regions. The tool for solving this problem is the development of a rental housing fund. This includes an annual increase in its construction to provide targeted services to our citizens.”

The next issue that the President raised with the ministers was gambling. And he made it clear that he was seriously concerned about them: “Firstly, in the presence of virtual institutions, insurance is required to prevent children and incapacitated citizens from participating in the game. Secondly, such entertainment should be available only to solvent people. In short, this is not the first time we have come across this issue, and in Belarus all this is flourishing. It blooms and smells, as they say. We have experience in the gambling business, and based on this experience, let’s finally adjust all the rules.”

The Head of State said that he considers it necessary to introduce a moratorium on gambling in gambling establishments. In addition, he suggested considering giving family members of an addicted gambler the right to somehow forbid him to indulge in this harmful passion.

But he is especially outraged by the fact that the money lost by Belarusians goes to foreign organizers of virtual casinos. “It is necessary to prohibit banks from making such transfers outside the country to begin with. The money earned here should be invested in the country. This applies to all areas of work,” the president demanded.

Suddenly, the participants in the meeting were lifted into space by this mundane topic. Lukashenko suggested considering the creation of the Belarusian NASA, his own space agency.

“We are working on the creation of a Russian-Belarusian ultra-high-resolution remote sensing spacecraft. Almost all the most important components of such a satellite are created in Belarus and displayed on a Russian platform,” the president said. – At the same time, most of the target equipment is manufactured by our Peleng. Three space programs of the Union State are under development.”

However, following the meeting, they decided not to force the issue. Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), who took office only last week, said: “If our constellation – and we hope not “if” but “when” – reaches seven to eight satellites and we will have a commercial product in the form of images, There are other Earth data that are interesting to use in the real sector of the economy of other countries, and this group will need to be managed more effectively, then it will be possible to return to the issue of creating a separate structure of the Belarusian NASA. For now, the NAS will continue to coordinate work on space exploration.”

While it is possible to take time with large–scale space exploration, the condition of domestic livestock requires urgent measures – the discussion has moved from starry distances to the situation in cowsheds. The situation with the loss of livestock caused serious anger of the president.

The President pointed out a way to solve the problem: “If you are ruining young animals, you just need to take them away and transfer them to a place where they are well treated, the maintenance is good, and the veterinarians are working.” Alexander Lukashenko demanded: “I want both the Prime Minister and the minister present here, especially the Deputy Prime Minister, who has been told about this ten times, to explain whether this is the case everywhere. And the chairman of the State Control Committee and the Prosecutor General, who oversees these issues, will report how much they imprisoned for this. I emphasize once again: as a villager who worked in agriculture, I do not understand at all how these little calves can be allowed to die. How can this be done?” The President promised that there would still be a separate substantive discussion on this situation.
